Michelle Younkin is the Managing Shareholder of Saber Law Group. As Managing Shareholder, Ms. Younkin oversees all aspects of the Firm’s operations and, along with founder Shirley Wang, is responsible for strategic planning, facilitating client relationships, and the recruitment and professional development of the Firm’s attorneys and staff. Ms. Younkin also leads the Firm’s diversity and inclusion and values-based initiatives.
As a former business owner whose clients included Fortune 500 companies and law firms on the AMLaw 100, Ms. Younkin brings significant, first-hand experience and insight into the bottom-line business needs of the Firm’s clients – whether they are faced with preparing a litigation budget or evaluating risk in connection with compliance audits and/or prior to implementing new workplace policies and procedures.
In addition to her responsibilities for the Firm, Ms. Younkin represents clients and litigates complex cases. Her current practice focuses on the defense of complex class and collective actions, including wage and hour claims, and discrimination claims brought under federal and state employment and fair housing statutes. She advises private and public companies and non-profit organizations, along with their boards, on best practices for compliance with wage and hour laws, the prevention of workplace discrimination and harassment, and the prevention of workplace violence.
Before joining Saber Law Group, Ms. Younkin litigated antitrust, unfair business practices and trade secret matters in the San Francisco office of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold, LLP. Her later role as Founder of a boutique e-discovery company, which used advanced technology to create efficient and cost-effective discovery plans, informs her practical, business-oriented approach to litigation and trial strategy.
Ms. Younkin graduated summa cum laude from Kenyon College where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi. She received her J.D. from The University of California Hastings College of the Law.
